- The Centre shall mean The Centre, Chywoone Hill, Newlyn, part of Newlyn Trinity Methodist Church.
- All provisional bookings must be confirmed with a completed Room Booking Form, or other means acceptable to The Centre, within 7 days. Any provisional booking not confirmed within that time will be cancelled.
- Payment must be made on the day unless credit facilities have been arranged in advance. A deposit may be required.
- If a cancellation is made, a charge will be made, calculated as a percentage of the total booking value. Bookings cancelled 11 to 40days prior to the event, 50% cancellation charge, 10 days or less100%.
- In the event of cancellation or non arrival on the day, 100% will be charged, including refreshments ordered and any equipment booked.
- Newlyn Trinity Methodist Church cannot accept liability for any claims, damages, costs and demands in respect of death or personal injury arising from the use of The Centre by the hirer pursuant to this agreement insofar as such death or personal injury arises from negligence on the part of Newlyn Trinity Methodist Church its servants, agents or representatives.
- Newlyn Trinity Methodist Church does not accept liability for loss or damage to property brought onto The Centre premises by or on behalf of the hirer however caused.
- The hirer is responsible to Newlyn Trinity Methodist Church for any damage, breakage or removal of any property caused by the hirer or their guests, agents or employees etc. Where OHP/Multimedia Projectors/Laptops are hired the loan is on the understanding that if the equipment is returned damaged or broken then the hirer will be responsible for repair or replacement.
- Newlyn Trinity Methodist Church will not be liable in failing to provide facilities previously agreed in the event that it is prevented from doing so by causes beyond its control. This will include but not be limited to fire, flood, storm, civil disturbance or industrial action.
- Newlyn Trinity Methodist Church reserves the right to, in extreme circumstances, cancel a booking, or offer an alternative room.
- All bookings must start and end at the agreed time. Any booking running over the stated time will result in additional charges.
- The hirer and all parties attending an event/booking must comply with the requirements of all competent statutory authorities including Fire and Health & Safety regulations. Please note that The Centre is a “No Smoking” building.
- Alcohol is not permitted on the premises.
- Non-prescription drugs are not permitted on the premises.
- Evidence of public liability insurance is required prior to the booking being confirmed, or when requested by The Centre Manager.
- It is a condition of hire that anyone working with children or young people on site has an up to date CRB/DBS clearance, evidence of which may be required.
- No activity shall be permitted whereby noise or nuisance is caused to neighbours or members of the public.
- Activities which are considered by The Centre manager or his/her representative to be contrary to the ethos of the Methodist Church will not be permitted at The Centre.
- The Centre manager or his/her representative is authorised to stop any activity that she/he deems to be contrary to the terms and conditions of hire.
- Newlyn Trinity Methodist Church reserves the right to refuse a booking.
